Upset in texas, how many millions do you think voted AGAINST Obama BECAUSE he is African American?! Sounds a bit hypocritical to complain.
Have you been as upset of these past eight years? Get over your self!
Barack Hussein Obama is a MAN, an intelligent and gifted American Man first who happens to be black and white. Your narrow thinking that people who voted for him did so only because he is black limits you, not the rest of the world. Check yourself.
And some people voted AGAINST Obama just because he is black. Also not a good reason to vote for or against someone. Get it?

Yes, and some people voted against Obama because he was black. We have friends who harbor this racist attitude so it did work both ways.

People voted for Obama because the Republicans have been the majority in the house and Senate for the last 12 years and a Republican president for the last 8 years, and most intelligent people realise that that every factor regarding quality of life in this country is in a shambles. Jobs , war, incomes, banks, national debt, financial institutions, name one thing going well. When someone like you or Joe the plumber don't get it it just amazes me... I don't understand ... how you can be so lost

Interesting! Did those people who voted for Senator McCain do so only because he's White? I think your premise is a flawed over-generalization about what motivates many people to vote. Could you consider the possibility that people actually voted for President-Elect Obama (Wow! That sounds good!) because he was just a better choice for President, who happens to be African-American? You can choose to be upset or you can choose to open your mind!

I agree that some people probably did vote for Obama simply because he is black. You have to concede, though, the possibility that the same can be said for McCain. I am sure that some people voted for him simply because Obama is black. I know someone that voted for McCain because she heard an Obama supporter on the radio unable to articulate why he was voting for Obama. She just wanted to cancel his vote. I think that is the dumbest reason to vote in the world. She voted though. Because that is her right and we all have that right.
What I'm saying is that you got to vote for the person you wanted for the reasons you have and I got to vote for the person I wanted for the reasons I have and the winner gets to be the president on Jan 20th. My guy won and the world is a different place today than it was yesterday. From this day forward parents can tell their children that they can be president someday and mean it. It is no longer something people say to give someone hope. It is a fact. Anyone that is born in this country can ascend to the presidency now.
I think that the haters are going to be surprised by how fair Barack will be as a president. Those that think he is going to push a hard left agenda are wrong. Then again time will tell.
Peace
I'm quite sure that is correct; however there were also many many white people who DID NOT VOTE for Obama "only because he is african american, and no other reason."
Unfortunately, much of the US has NOT got past its racist heritage, but we are making progress.

I voted for Obama and it had nothing to do with race. It had more to do with his temperment and character. And Sarah Palin is not only inexperienced, she is one scary, scary tw*t.
So, do you think that some people voted for McCain "only because" he is white, or male, or old, or a veteran? Do you REALLY think people are that shallow and disinterested in the health and integrity of their homeland? What IS a good enough reason to vote for someone? Being a POW? Being so rich that you don't remember how many homes you own, and laugh when you admit that you own 13 cars? Then you are a very foolish and shallow person.

I agree, its not a good reason to vote! I shake my head at those that commented on his race being a plus for them. I tried to encourage others to think responsibly and choose wisely. As a black female, I voted due to his beliefs, reasoning and PLAN OF ACTION. I believe that he will be a GREAT LEADER! He will encounter many trials and tribulations as did those before him (in office). Bush & Bush, Nixon, Reagon, etc... all had trials, Obama will have to stand strong just as they did during tough times. Just as we voted others into Presidency (going by what they said they were GOING TO DO), a chance was given... I ask that you GIVE HIM A CHANCE.
In my eyes... he is human, not black or white, simply human!
He is not an African American...
